- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil (vegetable or avocado oil)
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster-style sauce or soy-based stir-fry sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
- 1–2 teaspoons chili paste or red chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 10 oz noodles (lo mein, rice noodles, or spaghetti)
- Sliced green onions
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Boil noodles in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Whisk together garlic, soy sauce, stir-fry sauce, honey, chili paste, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, season lightly with salt and pepper, and cook 4–5 minutes until golden. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining oil to skillet. Sauté broccoli 3–4 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
- Return chicken to skillet. Pour in sauce and cook 2–3 minutes, stirring until thickened.
- Toss in cooked noodles and stir gently until coated and heated through.
- Divide into bowls and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
