Description
Indulge in the luxurious flavors of these homemade Red Velvet Marble Waffles, perfectly fluffy and swirled with a rich cocoa taste.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 large eggs
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons red food coloring
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined (do not overmix).
- Divide the batter evenly into two bowls. Add the red food coloring to one bowl and mix until well combined, creating the ‘red velvet’ portion.
- Preheat a waffle iron and lightly grease if necessary. Scoop batter onto the hot waffle iron, alternating spoonfuls of the red velvet and plain batter to create a marble effect.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the red velvet marble waffles warm, with a drizzle of icing, powdered sugar, and your favorite toppings.
Notes
- These waffles are best served fresh.
- You can customize toppings to your preference.
