Onion Ring Chips – Crispy, Crunchy, and Totally Addictive
Ingredients

- 2 large onions (yellow or sweet)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
- Cooking oil (for frying or brushing if baking)
- Optional Seasonings: Chili powder, Smoked paprika, Grated Parmesan-style cheese
Instructions
- Peel onions and slice very thin into rings. Separate rings and pat dry with paper towels.
- Set up three bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs in the second, and breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in the third.
- Dip each onion ring into flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place onion rings on a lined baking sheet and lightly brush or spray with oil.
- Bake 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry onion rings in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately while hot and crunchy.
