- 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (240 ml) water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine undrained crushed pineapple and granulated sugar.
- Stir gently to mix and dissolve the sugar into the pineapple.
- Pour the pineapple mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pineapple layer.
- Do not stir; keep the layers intact for a gooey texture.
- Add coconut flakes on top of the cake mix for flavor.
- Drizzle melted unsalted butter generously over the entire mixture.
- Pour water over the mixture, ensuring it seeps through the layers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
