Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the fireweed blossoms, sugar, and water. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and let the syrup simmer for 15-20 minutes to infuse the flavor.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on solids to extract liquid.
  4. Transfer the strained syrup to a clean jar or bottle and let cool completely before sealing and refrigerating.
