- 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the drained and rinsed chickpeas, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, flour, water, and salt. Pulse until a coarse paste forms, being careful not to overmix.
- Preheat a waffle iron and lightly grease it with nonstick cooking spray or oil.
- Scoop about 1/4 cup of the falafel mixture onto the hot waffle iron and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Repeat with the remaining falafel mixture, cooking the waffles in batches.
- Serve the Falafel Waffles warm, drizzled with tahini sauce or your favorite toppings.
