Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Whole grain buns or rice/vegetables for serving
- Optional: finely diced carrots or zucchini
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and drizzle with olive oil.
- Add the ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
- Stir in the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until softened.
- Pour in tomato sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
- Sprinkle in chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to adjust seasoning.
- Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
- Spoon the mixture over toasted whole grain buns or serve with rice or vegetables.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
