- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 8 ounces Cream Cheese
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 4 cups Powdered Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- Food Coloring
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper while the dough chills.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
- Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and transfer to baking sheets.
- Sprinkle with toppings if desired before baking.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are light golden and centers are soft.
- Cool cookies on wire racks before decorating.
