Description
Stuffed Leeks with Meat is a savory dish that combines tender leeks with a flavorful meat filling. Perfect for dinner or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large leeks, washed and trimmed
- 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the leeks in half lengthwise and rinse them thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris.
- In a large skillet, sauté the ground meat over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the dried thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
- Carefully stuff the hollowed-out leek halves with the meat mixture, pressing it in gently.
- Arrange the stuffed leeks in a baking dish and drizzle with the olive oil.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the leeks are tender and the filling is hot and bubbly.
- Serve the Stuffed Leeks with Meat warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
