Description

Stuffed Leeks with Meat is a savory dish that combines tender leeks with a flavorful meat filling. Perfect for dinner or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large leeks, washed and trimmed
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the leeks in half lengthwise and rinse them thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris.
  3. In a large skillet, sauté the ground meat over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the dried thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Carefully stuff the hollowed-out leek halves with the meat mixture, pressing it in gently.
  8. Arrange the stuffed leeks in a baking dish and drizzle with the olive oil.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the leeks are tender and the filling is hot and bubbly.
  10. Serve the Stuffed Leeks with Meat warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
