  • Author: Jannet Lisa
  • Total Time: 50-65 minutes (plus 15 minutes resting)
  • Yield: 8-10 servings
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A decadent and creamy seafood lasagna layered with succulent shrimp, crab, fresh spinach, and a rich Alfredo-style sauce, finished with three types of cheese. This comforting dish is perfect for gatherings or a special dinner.

Ingredients

  • Lasagna sheets
  • Liquid crab boil
  • Shrimp
  • Crabmeat
  • Creole or Cajun seasoning
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh spinach
  • Salt
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Fontina or Muenster cheese
  • Butter
  • Garlic
  • Flour
  • Half & half
  • Chicken stock
  • Black pepper
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil
  • Garlic & herb cream cheese
  • Sour cream

Instructions

  1. Cook lasagna sheets in water with a splash of liquid crab boil until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Toss shrimp and crabmeat with Creole seasoning.
  3. Sauté spinach in olive oil with a pinch of salt until wilted, then set aside.
  4. Preheat oven to 375 °F. Melt butter with garlic, stir in flour, then add chicken stock and half & half. Whisk until thickened, season with Creole seasoning and black pepper, stir in liquid crab boil, then fold in Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
  5. Mix cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, and fresh basil in a bowl.
  6. Grease a baking pan and spread a thin layer of the sauce.
  7. Layer lasagna sheets, the cream cheese mixture, the seafood and spinach mixture, and mozzarella and Fontina cheeses. Repeat layers for a total of three layers, ending with sauce and cheese.
  8. Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes.
  9. Broil for 3–5 minutes for a golden-brown top.
  10. Sprinkle with fresh basil and let the seafood lasagna rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add extra Creole seasoning or red pepper flakes.
  • If you don’t have garlic & herb cream cheese, use plain cream cheese mixed with minced garlic and chopped fresh herbs.
  • You can substitute Fontina cheese with Muenster or Monterey Jack.
  • For a quicker assembly, use no-boil lasagna noodles.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • To reheat, cover and bake at 350 °F until warmed through.
