Red Velvet Valentine’s Day Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy, cocoa-infused rolls with a vibrant red hue, swirled with cinnamon-sugar filling and topped with a rich cream cheese frosting. Perfect for Valentine’s breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

- 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 45°C)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons red gel food coloring
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (as needed)
Instructions
- Mix warm milk and sugar, sprinkle yeast on top, and let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, cocoa powder, food coloring, flour, and salt. Knead until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, until doubled.
- Mix butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, spread filling evenly, then roll tightly into a log.
- Slice into 12 equal rolls and place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until set.
- Beat frosting ingredients until smooth and spread over warm rolls.
