- 2 flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
- 1/4 cup cooked chicken or beef, shredded (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil
- Optional toppings: salsa, sour cream, guacamole
Instructions
- Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Place one tortilla in the skillet.
- Sprinkle half the cheese over the tortilla.
- Add cooked chicken or beef, if using.
- Top with the remaining cheese.
- Place the second tortilla on top.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.
- Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Slide the quesadilla onto a cutting board.
- Cut into wedges and serve with your favorite toppings.

- For a vegetarian quesadilla, omit the meat and add sautéed vegetables like onions, peppers, or mushrooms.
