Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ribeye steak (thinly sliced) or ground beef for convenience
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or use cheddar, mozzarella, or American cheese)
  • 4 eggs (to bind the casserole together)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a slight kick)

Optional Additions:

  • Sliced mushrooms – adds depth to the flavor
  • Hot sauce – for a spicy variation
  • Keto-friendly bread crumbs – for a slight crunch

Instructions

Step1: Preheat & Prepare

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Step2: Cook the Steak & Vegetables

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced ribeye steak (or ground beef) and cook until browned.
  • Remove the steak and set it aside.
  • In the same skillet, add a bit of butter or oil and sauté the onions, bell peppers, and garlic until softened (about 5 minutes).

Step3: Combine the Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
  • Stir in the cooked steak and vegetables.

Step4: Assemble & Bake

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step5: Serve & Enjoy

  • Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, meaty goodness!

Notes

  • Use high-quality steak: Ribeye is the best cut for the most authentic flavor.
  • Try different cheeses: Provolone, mozzarella, or even Pepper Jack can add different flavors.
  • Make it low-carb: Skip any breadcrumbs and enjoy this as a keto cheesesteak casserole.
