  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together in a saucepan or microwave until smooth.
  3. Stir in sugar, then whisk in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Fold dry ingredients gently into wet mixture.
  6. Stir in vanilla and peppermint extract.
  7. Spread batter evenly in pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top while brownies are warm.
  9. Let brownies cool completely before slicing into squares.
