Description

Master the Hot Pocket air fryer method for perfectly crispy results in just 8 minutes. This foolproof technique works with frozen or homemade hot pockets, delivering restaurant-quality texture that’s impossible to achieve in the microwave.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 frozen Hot Pockets (any brand, any flavor)
  • Optional: cooking spray for extra crispiness

For Homemade Version:

  • 1 (8-count) can refrigerated crescent roll dough, chilled
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • ¼ cup thick pizza sauce, divided
  • ¼½ cup chopped pepperoni, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Remove Hot Pockets from freezer and packaging. Do NOT thaw. Lightly spray with cooking oil if desired.
  3. Place Hot Pockets in air fryer basket with at least 1 inch between them.
  4. Cook at 400°F for 6-8 minutes, flipping once at the 4-minute mark.
  5. Let rest for 2 minutes before eating to allow filling to settle and prevent burns.

For Homemade:

  1. Separate crescent dough into 4 rectangles (2 triangles each). Press perforations to seal.
  2. Place 2 tablespoons mozzarella, 1 tablespoon sauce, and desired pepperoni on one half of each rectangle, leaving ½-inch border.
  3. Fold dough over filling, crimp edges with fork. Brush with egg wash.
  4. Cook at 370°F for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Pierce 2-3 diagonal vents in hot pockets before cooking to prevent explosions
  • Do not stack hot pockets – cook in batches if needed
  • Internal temperature should reach 165°F for food safety
  • Different air fryer models may require slight temperature adjustments
  • Frozen hot pockets actually cook better than thawed ones
  • For extra crispy results, add 1-2 minutes to cooking time
  • Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 3-4 days
  • Reheat at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to maintain crispiness
