- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Add the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Top with half of the beef mixture. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef mixture.
- Dot the top of the casserole with butter and cover the dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
