- 1½ cups grape soda (about 360 ml)
- 1 box white cake mix (15.25 oz or about 430 grams)
- 1 packet unsweetened grape drink mix (about 0.14 oz or 4 grams)
- 4 –6 drops purple gel food coloring
- 1 cup salted butter (about 226 grams)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract (about 10 ml)
- ¼ tsp almond extract (about 1.25 ml)
- 4 cups powdered sugar (about 480 grams)
- 2 –3 tbsp heavy cream (about 30–45 ml)
- Purple sparkling or sanding sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites, vegetable oil, and grape soda until well combined.
- Incorporate the Dry Ingredients: Gradually add white cake mix and grape drink mix, mixing until smooth.
- Bake to Perfection: Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full and bake for about 15 minutes, checking at 12 minutes.
- Whip Up the Frosting: Beat softened butter with vanilla and almond extracts until light and fluffy.
- Color & Decorate: Add purple gel food coloring to frosting and mix until smooth.
