Golden Greek Honey Pie (Melopita) is a light, creamy Mediterranean dessert made with fresh cheese, fragrant honey, and warm cinnamon.

- 1 pound (450g) ricotta cheese or anthotyro (well-drained)
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup (170g) honey (Greek thyme honey recommended)
- ¼ cup (30g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
- Extra honey for drizzling
- Ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch round baking dish or pie pan.
- In a large bowl, combine ricotta, eggs, honey, flour, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Whisk or use a hand mixer until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is lightly golden and the center is set but slightly jiggly.
- Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours for cleaner slices.
- Drizzle with extra honey and sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
