  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt (Maldon salt)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and yeast. Add warm water and stir until a sticky dough forms. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or up to 24 hours.
  2. Gently shape the chilled dough into a ball. Pour olive oil into an 8-inch cake pan and spread it evenly. Place the dough in the pan and cover with plastic wrap. Let sit at room temperature for 2 hours until it expands near the edges of the pan.
  3. Preheat your oven to 450°F. Remove plastic wrap, drizzle remaining olive oil over the dough, and press your fingers into the dough to create deep dimples. Sprinkle with oregano, basil, and sea salt.
  4. Bake for 22-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oven and serve warm or at room temperature.
