Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 4 small ones)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried thyme)
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • ½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Optional Add-Ons for More Flavor

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (for a spicy kick)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (for extra richness)

Instructions

Step1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder.

Step2: Sear the Chicken

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step3: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

  1. Reduce heat to medium-low, then add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  2. Pour in the chicken broth, lemon juice, and herbs. Stir well and simmer for 2 minutes.

Step4: Simmer and Serve

  1. Return the seared chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over it.
  2. Cover and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot!

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic instead of garlic powder for maximum flavor.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy.
  • For extra creaminess, stir in ¼ cup of heavy cream before serving.
  • Pair with a side dish like garlic mashed potatoes or buttery roasted Brussels sprouts.
