- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika

- ½ cup crushed butter crackers (for a crispy topping)
- ½ tbsp melted butter
Optional Additions:
- Swap ribeye steak for ground beef for a budget-friendly option.
- Add hot sauce or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Use cheddar or Swiss cheese for a different flavor.
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and cook for 3-4 minutes, until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Using the same skillet, add the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until soft. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Reduce heat to low. Stir in the cream cheese and heavy cream, mixing until smooth.
Transfer the steak and vegetables to the prepared baking dish. Pour the cheese sauce over the top and mix gently. Sprinkle shredded provolone and mozzarella cheese evenly.
In a small bowl, mix crushed butter crackers with melted butter. Sprinkle over the casserole. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
Notes
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh steak, peppers, and cheese enhance the dish’s flavor.
- Pre-Slice Steak: Thinly slice steak against the grain for the best texture.
- Don’t Overcook the Steak: Slightly undercook the steak before baking to avoid toughness.
- For a Low-Carb Version: Skip the butter cracker topping and serve over cauliflower rice.
