- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Whisk the dry ingredients together until well combined.
- Cream softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add milk and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix ground cinnamon with remaining brown sugar for the filling.
- Spread half of the dough into the prepared baking dish, pressing down firmly.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough.
- Dollop the remaining dough on top of the filling, spreading gently.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the bars in the dish for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
