- For the French Toast:
- 8 slices thick-cut bread (brioche or Texas toast works best)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp butter (for frying)
- For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the mixture on 4 slices of bread, then top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
- Make the Egg Mixture: In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and salt.
- Cook the French Toast: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt butter.
- Dip each stuffed sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Coat in Cinnamon Sugar: In a shallow dish, mix sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
- Immediately after cooking, coat each French toast in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve & Enjoy: Serve warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or chocolate sauce for extra indulgence!
Notes
- For an even richer taste, add a pinch of nutmeg to the egg mixture.
- Best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 1 day. Reheat in the oven for crispiness.
- Use Nutella, peanut butter, or fruit preserves as alternative fillings!
