Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Pasta:
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta (or any pasta of choice)
- ½ cup pasta water (reserved)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step1: Prepare the Chicken
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season them with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Step2: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set the pasta aside.
Step3: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
- Slowly add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until smooth.
Step4: Combine Everything
- Slice the cooked chicken breasts into strips.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing it in the creamy sauce.
- If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Top with sliced garlic butter chicken and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Use fresh garlic instead of garlic powder for a stronger, more aromatic flavor.
- If you prefer a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
- To make it a spicy garlic butter chicken pasta, add more red pepper flakes.
