Description
This easy homemade Alfredo sauce is buttery, cheesy, and decadently creamy. Made with heavy cream, Parmesan, and a hint of garlic, it’s ready in under 15 minutes. Perfect over fettuccine or drizzled on roasted veggies, this classic white sauce is pure comfort.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the heavy cream and cream cheese. Whisk until melted and smooth.
- Stir in the garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Continue whisking until well combined.
- Add the Parmesan cheese gradually and whisk until fully melted and smooth.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened.
- Serve immediately over your favorite pasta or other dishes.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest texture.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen.
- Don’t let it boil—gentle simmering keeps it creamy, not grainy.
